Note: Many Persian speakers have immigrated to the United States, notably in Los Angeles. Therefore, Farsi users need both basic Arabic script support and support for Persian only letters. However, after the people converted to Islam, they began writing Persian in the Arabic script, although some letters and marks were added just for Persian. The language is not related to Arabic, but to languages of Northern India and more closely to Pashto (Afghanistan), Kurdish and others. Persian (or Farsi) is the national language of Iran, and of the earlier Persian Empire. Language Tags: fa (Persian/Farsi), ar (Arabic)Ībout Persian and the Arabic Script The Persian (Farsi) Language.
